RYE HISTORICAL SOCIETY – ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 28th AUGUST 2023
The AGM Agenda was distributed and copies of the Minutes of the last AGM, the President’s Report and Treasurer’s report were available for members.
29 members were in attendance and four apologies were received.
The following were accepted and seconded.
- The 2022 AGM minutes
- The 2023 President’s Report
- The 2023 Treasurer’s Report
After Committee positions were declared vacant, Noel Tyzack, as the Returning Officer, was asked to confirm the Office Bearers and Committee for 2023/2024.
Nominations received for Office Bearers and Committee did not exceed requirements so the Returning Officer declared all those members nominated duly elected, namely:
President: Lynne Woollard
Vice-President: Mechelle Cheers
Secretary: Prue Found
Treasurer: Danny Jennings
Committee: Shirley Bird, Catherine Cox, Christine Evans, John Hazledine, Ian McBeath.
The President thanked Committee members for their contributions over the last year.
Motion: Mr Russell Atkins to be Honorary Auditor for 2023/24. Carried
The AGM ended at 2.30pm.
“BRING A TREASURE” EVENT
Upon completion of the AGM, members were invited to take part in the annual “Bring a Treasure” Event. This provides members with opportunity to display a treasured item and to tell of its history and what it means to them. This is always an enjoyable event, but this year members exceeded expectations! Our members really do have some absolute treasures and I’m sure we will all look forward to next year’s offerings. – LW
